Happy New School Year!
You may have noticed that I wasn't at school the first week of school. My wife and I were competing in our first Olympic Distance Triathlon at the Mt. Mayon Triathlon in the Philippines.
It was a wonderful race and a tough, challenging course.
Whenever I participate in a running race or a triathlon, I usually share my experience with the students to encourage them to live active lifestyles.
Here's my pre-race selfie.
Followed by my completion of the 1,500 meter swim.
Transitioning to the bicycle portion of the race. 40 km (about 25 miles) with a few climbs.
To finish the race, a hilly 10 km run, called "the most challenging run" by experienced triathletes in the Philippines.
Sorry, no running photos.
With a total time of 3:09:59. The finisher's medal was made out of volcanic ash from Mt. Mayon Volcano.
